August is Family Fun Month, which makes it the perfect opportunity to engage families in hands-on learning to help co-educate during the school year! One of my favorite create-to-learn activities from our Family Engagement kits is the Moved by Math Harvest Hunt activity!
In this activity, your students will engage in project-based learning to create/draw vegetables and do a scavenger hunt with their family. After which, they will use the vegetables to practice math, helping to connect school and home using classroom curriculum!
Do you have a plan to engage families in the new school year? If so, share with us! What activities, events, or hand-outs are you using to involve parents as partners to build students’ skills?
