Hi! I'm Jill Lyle from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. I completed my student teaching in 1998 at an amazing Elementary School, 22 years later, I'm still teaching there. My experience ranges from grades 3-5 and I've taught ESE, gifted as well as ELL students. The best part is I still have the same love & passion for teaching as I did 22 years ago. Currently, we're teaching  through E-Learning. I'm doing my best to make this online learning as fun as I can for my amazing, high achieving, absolutely adorable 19 3rd grade students.
Crayola & teaching go hand-in-hand and have been a part of my life for as long as I can recall. Being a young girl playing school with my best friend, Fran (who remained my best friend until she lost her life due to 9/11) and we'd give our Cabbage Patch Kids & Pound Puppies Spelling Tests. We would grade them with Crayola Markers that came in a white box (I think). Frannie even had the Avon Crayola Crayon Lip Gloss!! The best was one Christmas we gave one another the same gift- The Crayola Caddy with the Lazy Susan! Our mothers planned it because we both really wanted it!!

I have passed on my love of all things Crayola to my six year son, Brody. His first product was the Palm Grip crayons. From there, it was a Crayola Easel from Santa and learning to cut using My First Crayola Safety Scissors. Now it's anything scented, the Silly Putty &  all the Silly Scents products are his favorites.

As my son and I were doing his math homework tonight, we was using the 64 pack of Crayola crayons as manipulatives for subtraction. We used some of my favorite colors...
Asparagus, Pacific Blue, OrchidPurple Mountain Majesty, and Bluetiful

I know this should be all about teaching but Crayola has been in my life for over 40 years and I love that my son enjoys them as well. I even put a box of Silly Scent Markers in my husband's home office just in case!!!

So Crayola, a HUGE THANK YOU for having amazing products for over 40 years and giving this teacher some of my most fondest childhood memories that still continue to this day through my son's eyes.

Hi Jill. I enjoyed reading your note... and appreciated hearing the joy of teaching you maintain bt adding the wonders of color to your day! I understand how you feel for I was a teacher of paper dolls that I drew and colored and named uniquely for my paper doll school. I retired a few years ago and still enjoy the magic of Crayola in my life. I keep crayons on hand (plus construction paper and You Name it in school supplies-I have it for my granddaughter) to share will kids and grown kiddies too to help spruce up the day with the beauty of Crayola coloring tools. Blessings to you and your class as you start this new year. which  offers a great learning challenge on how to color any problems with hope and harmony.  Enjoy this week and the Labor Day Weekend too!
