Getting continued administrative support

    Hi fellow educators!

Sometimes the leadership at my school is very excited about art initiatives at the kickoff of a new project or initiative, but then we lose momentum or focus. How can you successfully continually engage people and keep people with buy in?

    Greetings Barbi,

Great question. It's great to know that your administration is supportive  and excited about art initiatives! That's a huge first step in the right direction. In regards to sustaining momentum around art initiatives, I would encourage  you to begin seeding the idea of establishing a team that is dedicated to these initiatives. We at Crayola call it a Creative Leadership Team. This diverse team of educators, admin, parents and others would be charged with focusing on all initiatives around creativity and the arts.  The focus of the team could include planning staff engagement, community engagement, school night events, etc.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

    James
